How it works
Upload. Listen. Ask. Remember.
From the PDF on your laptop to a study pal in your earbuds. Here's what happens at each step.
Step 1 of 5
Upload your material
Drop in a chapter, or put a whole book into your library once and pick chapters from it later.
- PDF, including scanned pages. StudyBoom reads the page images.
- Word (.docx), plain text or Markdown, or paste text straight in.
- Photos of pages (JPG, PNG, WebP), for the chapter you only have on paper.
- Whole books up to 500 MB go into the library; single chapters up to 60 MB.
Watermarks, “printed by” stamps and running headers are removed before anything is read aloud. You see the price in BoomCoins before anything runs.

Choose an audiobook or a summary
Audiobook keeps every statement, example, definition and number, in the author's order. It's near word for word: only what doesn't work by ear gets rewritten.
Summary comes in three lengths, at about 10, 25 or 50% of the source. Key terms stay verbatim and the chain of reasoning stays intact.
Add a note for the narrator if you like, such as “say the section numbers in full”. Choosing the language of a summary is coming soon. Coming soon

The Lektorat checks every sentence
Before the voice records anything, a separate editor reviews the script against your source. It didn't write the script, so it checks it with fresh eyes.
- Listenability: no leftover bullets, arrows, symbols or “see table 3”.
- Fidelity: nothing missing, nothing added, no meaning changed, down to negations and “only if”.
- Comprehension by ear: can you follow it without seeing the page?
Flagged sentences are fixed and checked again. You can open the report for each section while you listen. See real before-and-after examples.

Listen with captions
Captions follow the narration sentence by sentence. Switch to the full transcript, or tap a sentence to hear it again.
- See the original passage behind any sentence, with its page number.
- Speeds from 0.75× to 2×. StudyBoom remembers where you stopped.
- On a keyboard: Space plays and pauses, ← and → move by sentence, T opens the transcript.

Hold to ask
Hold Space (or the button), ask your question out loud, let go. The narration pauses, and the answer is spoken in a second voice so you can tell it apart from the book.
- Answers come only from your material, never from general knowledge.
- Each answer quotes the passage it's based on. Tap the quote to jump there.
- If your material doesn't cover the question, the answer says so plainly.
- One tap for “say that more simply” or “give me an example from the text”. You can type, too.
Every question lands in your notes, with the cited passages and page numbers. Export them as Markdown.

Then: your study pal checks you've got it
Coming soonWhile you listen, it pauses for quick check-in questions about what you just heard. Before the exam, generate 20 to 100 practice questions from any chapter in your library: multiple choice scored with points, or open answers assessed after you submit them. More about practice questions
