1. What BoomCoins are
BoomCoins (BC) are prepaid units for AI actions in StudyBoom, such as generating an audiobook or answering a question. They are not money, not electronic money and not a deposit. They have no cash value, can't be exchanged for cash, and can't be transferred, sold or given to another account.
2. Getting BoomCoins
- The licence includes 500 BC.
- Packs cost $15, $25, $50, $100 before tax and contain 1,185 BC, 1,975 BC, 3,950 BC, 7,900 BC (79 BC per US dollar).
- Coins are credited on the price before tax and after any discount.
3. Using BoomCoins
- Each action has a fixed price from our published price list. You see the price before an action runs and the exact amount charged afterwards.
- When a generation starts, its price is reserved. It's charged step by step, and whatever a failed step doesn't use is released.
- Your balance can't go below zero. If it runs out, generation pauses between steps and nothing is lost.
4. Changes to the price list
We may change the price list. Changes apply only to actions started afterwards. We announce price increases at least [30] days in advance by email and in the app. The number of coins you hold never changes.
5. Expiry
BoomCoins don't expire. If we discontinue StudyBoom, we refund the purchase price of unused purchased coins [confirm, e.g. pro rata from the most recent pack]. Coins included with the licence aren't refunded.
6. Refunds
- An unused pack can be refunded within 14 days of purchase, as long as no coins from it have been used. Write to [contact email].
- Coins included with the licence, and coins already used, are not refundable unless the law requires it.
- Consumers in the EU and UK: see also the withdrawal policy.
- If a payment is reversed or charged back, the coins from it are removed.
7. Auto top-up
- Auto top-up buys a pack automatically with your saved card when your balance drops below a threshold. The recommended setting is +$25 below 494 BC.
- In the EU and UK it's off unless you switch it on. Elsewhere it's on by default and shown at checkout.
- You can change the amount and threshold, set a monthly maximum, or switch it off in Settings at any time.
- We email you after every automatic top-up with the amount charged.
8. Spending limits
You can set a monthly cap, a cap per chapter, a confirmation above an amount you choose, and a daily cap for questions. We alert you at your auto top-up threshold and at 80% of your monthly cap.
